Recovery



Finally, I watched the last Shinya Tsukamoto of my library. And it started to haunt me in my dreams. Actually, not the film itself, but what I would write about it.
Somebody posted, that if you didn't like Raging Bull, you will not stand "Tokyo Fist" either. But I found it is much more entertaining than the Scorsese saga - at the same level of method acting efforts.
Kahori Fujii ("Hizuru") is adorable as she stands under the highway bridge in a blue apron with a giant daikon (okay, that might be a tautology now, but anyway) in her hand. While her future husband and his ex-schoolmate box for her, she develops a piercing fetish.
Althought in many scenes a huge question mark appeared above my head, Shinya Tsukamoto tells a story this time, almost chronologically. What starts as a highschool drama ends as a sadomaso love triangle.
The soundtrack mimics the Tetsuo-sound, but in my opinion it doesn't suit this movie perfectly.
I think you will be glad to hear that there's also a "Moshi-moshi?-scene.

Last night one of my dearest friends and I entered a world of metal mutations, industrial sounds, rubber hose conglomerates, thick eye glasses, buzz cocks, skinhead scientists, high-tech hard core fantasies and - ... Aaaaaah, out ouf my head!!!!

Ein absolut erfreuliches Kinoerlebnis ist der südkoreanische Blockbuster "Gwoemul" (aka "The Host", Regie: Bong Joon-Ho)!



Eigentlich besuchte ich das Filmcasino, um einmal einen richtig grausigen Horror-Monster-Film zu sehen und die Nackenhaare der anderen BesucherInnen mit meinen schrillen Schreien zu sträuben. Jedoch wurde ich von einer Familiengeschichte mit extrem politischen Hintergrund überrumpelt.
Obgleich die kollektiven Großgefühlsausbrüche irritieren, ist die mütterfreie Familie ungeheuer liebenswürdig. Sie besteht aus dem tollpatschige Helden Park Gang-Du (zum Knutschen: Song Kang-Ho), der mit seinem Vater Hie-Bong einen Essensstand auf der Picknickwiese am Flussufer betreibt, der Profi-Bogenschützin Nam-joo und dem arbeitslosen Ex-Studenten Nam-Il. Allesamt machen sie sich auf, die entführte Tochter von Gang-Du, Hyun-Seo, zu suchen und müssen, vom Monster abgesehen, gegen Polizei, Militär und Ärzteteams kämpfen. Das chemisch generierte Untier regt deshalb nicht zum Fürchten an, da es sichtbar und ungeniert herumtrampelt. Genauso vorbehaltslos fließt das Blut. Das Verhalten von "The Host" ist grausamer, realer und banaler als wenn ein Alien-Ästhetikfilter drübergelegt worden wäre.
In der letzten Viertelstunde setzt der wahre Horror ein.
